Rachel Carlson

Accompanist

Rachel, originally from Kansas, began taking piano lessons at the age of 6. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Kansas State University and taught choral music in her home state for thirteen years. While teaching, she earned a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Wichita State University. She also was very active in church music and taught private piano. In 1997 she left public school teaching to earn a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Florida State University.

She and her husband moved to Colorado in 1999, where she had a 21-year career as a free-lance collaborative pianist at UNC in Greeley, performing with many vocal and instrumental majors, as well as accompanying UNC choral groups, NATS competition entrants, graduate classes, and UNC auditions.

Currently, Rachel is pianist for Loveland Choral Society, Aims Community College and area voice studios. She frequently performs with Loveland Opera Theatre and plays for other musical events in Northern Colorado.
