Information
Loveland Choral Society was established in 1977, and has grown to become
an accomplished eclectic choral and performance ensemble capable of performing
a wide range of choral genres. LCS is a volunteer community chorus whose
members come from many diverse backgrounds. The group is comprised of
both trained and non-trained singers, all who enjoy the thrill of making
music. Membership is open to interested singers, high school age and above,
who possess basic vocal skills necessary to learn and perform multi-part
choral music.
Member Responsibilities
Attendance: LCS members are dedicated singers and are expected to attend all regularly scheduled (Tuesday)
rehearsals. Attendance at extra
practices is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. All singers must inform their section leaders
of any absence. Excessive absenteeism
can result in non-participation in the concerts. The final decision will be made by the section
leader and the artistic director. Attendance at a sectional rehearsal may
make up for missing a regular rehearsal.
Rehearsal Protocol: Rehearsals begin promptly at 7:00 PM
and end at 9:30 PM.
Cell Phones and Pagers are to be turned on silent and not to be used
during rehearsals. Talking (kibitzing) with your neighbors is strongly
discouraged. Eating and chewing gum are prohibited during rehearsals.
Water bottles (with secure tops) are permitted. Members should refrain
from wearing perfume or cologne during rehearsals and performances (due
to allergies). Members are to show kindness, respect, and courtesy to
fellow members, recognizing each to be a unique individual with differing
talents and abilities.
Dues: Members pay dues as established by the board for
each show in which they participate. Dues must be paid by the membership
cut-off date for the concert. These dues do not cover the cost of the
music. Rather, they are collected to help defray LCS expenses for the
performance royalties, accompaniment, administration, music storage, etc. Dues are non-refundable.
